Having a net close at hand, in the wading belt or hanging on the back, is very practical when it comes to landing the fish. When you fly fish and practice Catch & Release, a good net is almost a must, this to reduce the time the fish has to spend above the water's surface. In a net, the fish can rest in the net under the surface of the water while it is unhooked.
